Module #6

This module has helped me think about self-directed learners and the role of differentiation in the following ways….

I think that using self directed learning is a good way for the students to take charge of their own learnign and to take ownership over what they are doing. We are creating a website for the students to use and on the website they can find all of their procedures, examples, and rubrics that they need to be successful.

Student Focused Assessment

I like the idea of having the students give their input on the assessments that they will be taking so that they have "buy in" on what they are learning. Hopefully, it will also help them to take the assessment more seriously.

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

It is used effectively when it is related to student interest and the 21st century learning skills. Students should all be assigned roles with tasks to finish so that they don't get off task.

Reflection 4

Tonight went well. We edited our unit plan and clarified our unit and content goals. We also finished many student samples, which will be helpful during our project.

Module 3 Reflection

I will try and visit the websites that I want the students to use ahead of time and create a document or list on my website for them to use. I also want to become more familiar with ways to help my students search; which means I need to search for the items first.

Module 1 Reflection

I learned that working backwards (with the end in mind) is a great way to make sure that your standard that you want to cover is met. We accomplished a lot today by setting up our final power point presentation and choosing the books that we want our students to read for their book tour.
